Dr. Zhou’s research focuses on narrative persuasion in health communication. Her current and upcoming projects explore the persuasive effects of stories in text-based health messages, the use of interactive narratives in digital health games, the influence of AI-generated stories, and narrative misinformation on social media. Dr. Zhou has published in Health Communication, Journal of Health Communication, Games for Health Journal, and other peer-reviewed journals. She has presented her work at the annual conferences of the National Communication Association and the International Communication Association. She teaches both graduate and undergraduate courses, including Communication Theory, Persuasion, Research Methods, and Interpersonal Communication.
